Cultivating Continuity: The All-Black Woman Expert Team Leading Elite Dental Wellness

Dr. Ashandra Batiste is reshaping how dental care is delivered in Houston, building a practice that places technology, access and patient experience at the center of treatment.

As reported by AfroTech, Batiste has emphasized both innovation and representation in developing Elite Dental Wellness, a practice structured around coordinated care and modern dental technology.

Batiste’s foundation in dentistry was shaped at Howard University College of Dentistry, where she trained in an environment that emphasized technical skill and shared responsibility. That framework informs how care is delivered within her practice.

The structure at Elite Dental Wellness is designed to reduce friction in the patient experience. Digital imaging, treatment planning tools and integrated workflows support consistency, allowing procedures to move with greater clarity.

The team includes Dr. Lindsey Sinclair Miller, Dr. Sarah Glenn and Dr. Tamaara Willis, each contributing to a model built on specialization and collaboration. Their work spans cosmetic, restorative and general dentistry, with an emphasis on continuity of care.

Batiste has pointed to a persistent gap in awareness within the profession, noting that visibility remains uneven. Her response has been to build a practice that reflects both representation and capability without separating the two.

That approach is reflected not only in staffing, but in how services are delivered. The practice prioritizes access, education and long-term outcomes, positioning dental care as part of overall health rather than a separate service.

Elite Dental Wellness also reflects the expanding role of technology in dentistry. From diagnostics to treatment execution, advanced tools support a more precise process, reducing uncertainty for both provider and patient.

For Batiste, the goal extends beyond individual outcomes. The practice functions as a model for how care can evolve, combining technical advancement with a broader effort to expand who is seen and served within the field.

In that shift, expectations are shaped less by who occupies the space and more by how the work is executed—redefining standards through delivery rather than description.
