Drake is mourning the loss of longtime collaborator Tay Keith after the Grammy-nominated producer was found dead in his Nashville apartment at age 29. Authorities said no foul play is suspected, and the cause of death remains pending autopsy results.

Born Brytavious Chambers, the Memphis hitmaker helped shape some of the biggest rap records of the past decade, including Drake's "Nonstop," Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode," and BlocBoy JB's "Look Alive." His production credits later expanded to Beyoncé, Eminem, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Nas X, and several other major artists.

OVO founder honored that legacy in an Instagram tribute, paying homage to Tay Keith with a touching social media post. The rapper wrote that Keith's spirit and contributions would never be forgotten and said he would be deeply missed.

Officers discovered Chambers during a welfare check on June 18 after concerns about his wellbeing. According to Nashville police, investigators found no signs of foul play, while autopsy findings are expected to determine the cause of death.

Rap fans first became familiar with Keith's signature sound through a string of Memphis-influenced records that exploded onto national charts. His producer tag became one of rap's most recognizable introductions, helping transform him into one of the industry's most sought-after beatmakers.

Colleagues within rap reflected on his legacy as collaborators and friends shared memories following news of his death. BlocBoy JB, DJ Scheme, Hitkidd, and other figures from the genre publicly reflected on both his talent and the relationships he built away from the studio.

Chambers earned Grammy nominations for Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode" and Drake and 21 Savage's "Rich Flex." Recognition also arrived through Forbes' 30 Under 30 Music list and a catalog that helped define the sound of modern rap across the late 2010s and early 2020s.

Autopsy results may provide long-awaited answers. Until findings are released, admirers across the rap world are left reflecting on a career that produced chart-topping hits and influenced an entire generation of Hip Hop production.
