Chicago Bulls games often came with a familiar soundtrack. A big shot would fall, the crowd would erupt and Stacey King's voice would race through speakers with the call that became known throughout Chicago: "Gimme the hot sauce!"

News of King's death arrived Sunday when the Bulls announced that the former player and longtime analyst had died at age 59. According to the Chicago Bulls, he remained connected to the franchise for more than three decades as both a title winner and commentator.

Lawton, Oklahoma, served as the starting point for his rise in basketball. King's success at the University of Oklahoma helped make him the sixth overall selection in the 1989 NBA Draft.

Three Larry O'Brien trophies soon followed. King helped Chicago finish on top in 1991, 1992 and 1993 during the first run of titles alongside Michael Jordan.

Stat sheets tell part of the story. The 6-foot-11 big man appeared in hundreds of NBA games and later spent time with Minnesota, Miami, Boston and Dallas before stepping away from professional basketball.

Microphone duties pulled him back into the Bulls orbit. Game nights became filled with sharp observations, humor and signature calls that viewers repeated long after the final buzzer.

Living rooms, sports bars and social media feeds regularly echoed with King's most famous line whenever Chicago delivered a highlight. Many fans could identify his voice within seconds, even before he reached the punch line.

Tributes, short clips and personal recollections began appearing across social media shortly after word of his death spread. Former teammates, fellow commentators and fans shared memories connected to King as news traveled across Chicago.

Three title rings secured his place in Bulls history. Time behind the microphone introduced him to viewers who never watched him play, yet still recognized the voice that became linked with Chicago basketball.
