Stefon Diggs stood before a jury in Massachusetts as testimony began in a case that now turns on sharply different accounts of what happened inside his home late last year.

Proceedings in Dedham moved quickly to the central dispute, with prosecutors outlining a confrontation tied to a breakdown in a working relationship between Diggs and his former personal chef. Defense attorneys rejected the allegations, framing the case as a financial dispute rather than a violent encounter.

According to the Associated Press, the accuser, Jamila Adams, told jurors that Diggs struck her and placed his arm around her neck during an argument on December 2, 2025, leaving her struggling to breathe. She testified that the incident followed tense exchanges tied to pay and a planned trip she said she was excluded from.

Adams described a relationship that began through social media before evolving into both a professional arrangement and a personal connection she characterized as complicated. Her account pointed to overlapping roles and blurred boundaries over time.

Prosecutors centered their case on that testimony, arguing the encounter escalated beyond a verbal dispute and into physical violence. Their presentation focused on Adams’s description of the moment she said the situation turned.

Defense attorneys countered that no physical evidence supports the claim. They cited the absence of medical records, photographs, or witness accounts and challenged Adams’s credibility, pointing to inconsistencies in her timeline and financial demands after the alleged incident.

Diggs has pleaded not guilty to felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault. He has denied the allegations and has not offered public comment as proceedings continue.

Attention surrounding the case has extended beyond the courtroom given Diggs’s profile as a professional football player and current free agent. That visibility adds weight to a case that now rests on competing narratives.

Testimony is expected to continue with additional witnesses as both sides attempt to reinforce their accounts. Jurors will weigh credibility against the absence of physical evidence in reaching a verdict.

Outcome remains uncertain, but the case now hinges on whether one account holds under sustained scrutiny.

So basically at this point it’s just a case of he say, she say. She’s going to need a lot more evidence to back her up, but you never know nowadays. People make accusations and get compensated with little to no evidence sometimes. Seems like they may have been doing the Hokey Pokey with each other…
