Tyreek Hill walked out of a Broward County courtroom Friday smiling after abruptly settling a civil lawsuit that accused the former Miami Dolphins receiver of causing serious injuries to influencer Sophie Hall during a football drill at his South Florida home.
Case ended during the second day of testimony, avoiding what appeared headed toward a lengthy courtroom fight involving competing accounts of how a backyard training session turned into a legal dispute tied to assault, battery, and negligence allegations.
Hall, 36, agreed to dismiss assault and battery claims against Hill while the receiver resolved her negligence claim for an undisclosed amount, according to Broward County court records and attorneys connected to the case. Settlement was finalized before jurors could hear the full presentation of evidence from either side.
Hill briefly addressed reporters after leaving court and delivered a line that quickly spread online. “I’m going to Disney World,” Hill said while exiting the courthouse, appearing relieved that months of legal pressure surrounding the lawsuit had finally ended.
Lawsuit originated from an encounter on June 28, 2023, after Hall purchased a ticket for her son to attend one of Hill’s youth football camps. Communication between Hall and Hill later moved to social media before she was invited to his Southwest Ranches property for what was described as a football lesson and workout session.
Hall alleged she accidentally knocked Hill backward during blocking drills before tensions escalated physically. Court filings accused Hill of charging toward her and shoving her with enough force to fracture her right tibia.
Injury required surgery and insertion of metal hardware into her leg, according to allegations outlined during the lawsuit. Hall, who has more than 2,300,000 Instagram followers, argued the encounter caused significant physical pain along with lasting disruption to her life and career activities.
Hill denied wrongdoing throughout the proceedings, and settlement does not represent an admission of liability from either side. Financial details tied to the agreement remain confidential.
Courtroom testimony had already begun exposing sharply different versions of the backyard encounter before settlement negotiations unexpectedly concluded the case. Attorneys appeared prepared for a prolonged legal battle centered on witness accounts, physical injuries, and questions surrounding how the confrontation unfolded.
Public attention surrounding the lawsuit intensified because of Hill’s status as one of the NFL’s most recognizable players and Hall’s large social media following. Friday’s settlement now closes a legal chapter that followed Hill throughout months of offseason headlines and public scrutiny.
For Hall, agreement ends a lawsuit centered on claims that a casual football session resulted in a severe leg injury requiring surgery and rehabilitation. For Hill, settlement removes another high profile legal issue from public view as he prepares for the next stage of his football career.
