Cleveland watched another fourth quarter unravel Saturday night as the Eastern Conference leaders moved within one win of their first NBA Finals appearance since the Patrick Ewing era.

The 121 to 108 result pushed the run to 10 consecutive postseason victories, according to ESPN. Jalen Brunson repeatedly split collapsing defenders while Mikal Bridges slipped into open shooting lanes as the scoreboard leaned further toward disaster for the home side.

Skip Bayless interrupted the celebration with a prediction aimed directly at the conference front runners. “Knicks are going to have a long rest before they get swept,” Bayless wrote while backing Oklahoma City in a possible championship matchup.

His remarks spread rapidly across basketball television and online discussion after another lopsided result. Energy surged through Manhattan as highlight clips flooded screens deep into the night.

Rocket Arena tightened with frustration once transition coverage started breaking apart during the third quarter. Empty trips drained life from the building while the gap kept expanding possession after possession.

Brunson controlled traffic near the paint and repeatedly sent defenders sliding the wrong direction with hesitation moves. Bridges exposed late rotations before secondary coverage fully recovered.

Karl Anthony Towns delivered force near the basket while Josh Hart chased loose rebounds that created extra scoring chances. Cleveland never restored rhythm after tempo increased late in the second half.

Doubts followed this roster throughout much of the postseason despite the growing success. Critics questioned whether the lineup carried enough perimeter shooting or interior resistance to survive against elite Western Conference opponents.

Skepticism weakened round by round. Atlanta crumbled after losing Game 4 during the opening matchup, and Cleveland now stands one defeat from elimination after failing to contain ball movement, spacing, and perimeter intensity.

Bayless openly supported Oklahoma City throughout recent weeks, making the criticism unsurprising to longtime viewers of his television appearances. Timing landed awkwardly against one of the strongest stretches this franchise has produced in decades.

One more victory would push Madison Square Garden into its first Finals atmosphere in more than two decades. Anxiety already feels replaced by anticipation as June inches closer and the postseason climb keeps pulling New York toward a stage untouched since 1999.
