Big30 walked out of jail this month. Pooh Shiesty did not.

The two Memphis rappers face the same federal robbery and kidnapping indictment connected to allegations tied to Gucci Mane's 1017 label, yet their circumstances changed dramatically after a judge approved bond for Big30 while Pooh Shiesty remained at Kaufman County Jail.

Rodney Wright Jr., known professionally as Big30, received a $100,000 bond package on June 4. Home detention and electronic monitoring were included among the release conditions. Lontrell Williams Jr., better known as Pooh Shiesty, was not granted similar relief.

David C. Godbey also approved a request that pushed the trial schedule deep into next year. According to XXL, jury selection is now scheduled for February 22, 2027, after originally being set for July 6, 2026. A final pretrial conference is scheduled for February 17, 2027.

The delay came after defense attorneys requested additional preparation time in a prosecution designated as complex. Prosecutors did not oppose the request.

Authorities allege nine defendants took part in an armed takeover inside a Dallas recording studio during January 2026. Prosecutors say jewelry, cash, luxury watches, and paperwork connected to a recording agreement were taken during the incident.

Gucci Mane's name appears throughout the allegations because the dispute allegedly grew from efforts by rapper AKYLEO to obtain a release from contracts connected to 1017 Global Music. Charging records allege the studio meeting was arranged to address that matter before violence erupted.

AKYLEO later posted on social media that he had not authorized anyone to recover release paperwork on his behalf. That statement became part of the broader dispute that followed the arrests.

Federal prosecutors accuse the group of kidnapping victims, stealing property, and transporting individuals across state lines. Convictions on the most serious counts could carry lengthy prison sentences.

Big30 now awaits the outcome from home under monitoring restrictions. Pooh Shiesty remains housed at Kaufman County Jail. Unless another ruling changes that status, he is expected to stay there for many more months before a jury is seated in Dallas.
