Twenty-four-year-old Chad Williams walked into the In-N-Out Burger on Blue Lakes Boulevard on Saturday afternoon and began shooting inside and around the dining room. Three people lost their lives and at least seven others sustained wounds during the violence.

Emergency dispatchers received a 911 call shortly after 2:29 p.m. reporting gunfire at the recently opened fast-food restaurant. Hundreds of people were in the surrounding shopping district when the attack began near the restaurant.

Investigators later confirmed that Williams acted alone before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene. Police stated that the gunman's family is currently cooperating fully with law enforcement.

Chief Matthew Hicks publicly warned the community about false online reports incorrectly identifying another individual as the shooter. The police chief stressed that the wrongly accused person had no involvement whatsoever in the incident.

An off-duty Idaho State Police trooper and an armed citizen confronted the gunman during the assault. Chief Hicks reported that their quick intervention halted further bloodshed.

"We believe their actions helped drive the suspect away from the scene, preventing further casualties," Hicks explained. Among those killed was a female employee serving customers when the shooting began.

Company president Lynsi Snyder confirmed the fatality in a public statement released over the weekend. "In-N-Out will be mourning with the families and praying for them as they tread through a very painful season," Snyder added.

Authorities withheld the identities of the victims on Sunday morning while working to notify relatives. Twin Falls city spokesperson Joshua Palmer informed reporters about the condition of the injured survivors.

Hospital officials confirmed that five of the seven injured victims remained hospitalized Sunday, including two patients listed in critical condition. Federal law enforcement agencies quickly joined local detectives to process physical evidence at the property.

Assistance from the FBI involves reviewing digital evidence submitted by witnesses through public tip portals. Authorities continue warning the public not to spread false online identifications while the investigation remains active.
