Discovery Bay White Woman Holding Stun Gun And Dog Told Black Homeowners to Stop "Acting Black," In Video

Gerritt Jones and members of the Jones family became the focus of a disturbing neighborhood confrontation after video resurfaced showing a white woman telling them to stop "acting Black" while standing on their property with a stun gun.

Discovery Bay residents witnessed the encounter in 2020 when tensions erupted between Jones and neighbor Adana Dean over Dice, a two-year-old pit bull belonging to the Jones family.

Recordings uploaded to X on June 15 pushed the incident back into public view years after it originally took shape. As reported by Atlanta Black Star, cameras documented remarks that overshadowed the original complaint.

Dean claimed the dog was outside without a leash. Relatives disputed that accusation and maintained the animal was not violating neighborhood rules.

Recording showed Dean standing in the driveway while carrying a poodle in one hand and a stun gun in the other. Cameras also captured remarks demanding that Jones and those around him stop "acting Black."

Jones refused to retreat during the exchange. He argued that people living on the street should be allowed to use their property under the same standards applied to everyone else nearby.
Comments captured on camera quickly shifted focus away from the disagreement involving Dice. Viewers concentrated on language many considered openly racist rather than concerns about neighborhood regulations.

Discovery Bay sits about an hour east of San Francisco and is known for waterfront housing and quiet residential streets. Images from the area stood in sharp contrast to words heard during the confrontation.

Jones died last year, giving renewed circulation of the recording additional emotional weight. Many people encountering it for the first time learned about him only after his passing.

The woman seen in the footage reportedly insisted she possessed proof showing she was not racist. That explanation failed to slow criticism from people who viewed the comments as unmistakable evidence of racial hostility.

Social media users continued sharing portions of the recording following the June repost. Renewed circulation transformed a years-old neighborhood dispute into a fresh examination of race, belonging and treatment of Black residents living in predominantly white areas.
