Stefon Diggs was acquitted of all charges after a jury rejected allegations brought by Jamila Adams, bringing a swift end to a case that turned on conflicting accounts rather than physical proof.

According to the Associated Press, jurors reached a not guilty verdict in under two hours following a two day trial in Dedham, Massachusetts, clearing Diggs of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault charges tied to a December 2 incident.

Adams, a former live in personal chef, testified that Diggs struck her and restricted her breathing during an argument connected to personal and financial disputes. Defense attorneys challenged that account throughout proceedings, pointing to inconsistencies and the absence of medical records, photographs, or independent witnesses.

Testimony from individuals close to Diggs indicated they did not observe visible injuries following the alleged encounter. Defense used those accounts to argue that the case lacked corroboration and rested heavily on a single narrative.

Cross examination also addressed a $5,500,000 demand raised by the defense as part of its effort to question motive. Adams did not confirm that such a request had been made on her behalf, leaving the issue unresolved but present in how the defense framed its argument.

Relationship between Diggs and Adams, which included both employment and prior personal involvement, was examined as attorneys sought to establish context around the dispute. Defense maintained that tensions tied to money and personal disagreements shaped the conflict more than any alleged act of violence.

Prosecutors urged jurors to consider Adams’ testimony within that context, arguing that the absence of physical evidence should not outweigh her account. Defense countered that the burden of proof had not been met and emphasized the lack of supporting documentation.

Proceedings moved quickly, narrowing on credibility rather than forensic evidence. Jurors were asked to weigh consistency, motive, and reliability as they evaluated testimony delivered under oath.

Verdict closed a case defined less by what could be proven and more by what could not be confirmed, leaving the outcome to rest on whether jurors found the allegations supported by evidence rather than assertion.

Good for him!! Now, hopefully he can move on with his life and make a conscious choice to move meticulously when it comes to women he chooses to have in his space. Black men don’t often make a full recovery from these situations as they’re still looked at funny, even when found not guilty. I hope he’s able to finally get picked up by a good team.
