Lil Durk could soon face additional racketeering murder charges as prosecutors move to widen the Los Angeles case that already carries severe consequences for the Chicago rapper.

New details emerged in a June 3 filing tied to co-defendant Deandre Wilson, who is seeking release ahead of trial. Prosecutors stated that fresh counts could include Murder in Aid of Racketeering and conspiracy to commit stalking, according to AllHipHop.

Records submitted in opposition to Wilson's release revealed how much larger the case could become before jurors are selected. Information contained in the filing suggests prosecutors are preparing to broaden allegations connected to an August 2022 shooting near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles.

Authorities allege rapper Quando Rondo was the intended target. Gunfire instead killed his cousin, Saviay'a "Lul Pab" Robinson. Durk, whose legal name is Durk Banks, has pleaded not guilty to charges already filed against him.

Wilson's attorneys argued that adding fresh counts could alter the trial schedule and weaken the rationale for continued detention. Prosecutors rejected that position and described Wilson as a key figure in the alleged plot.

Investigators contend that Wilson helped recruit and transport individuals from Chicago to California before the shooting. They also allege that Quando Rondo was monitored over a two-day span leading up to the attack. Those claims remain unproven and are expected to face challenges as the case moves forward.

Surveillance video collected after Robinson's death occupies a prominent place in the filing. Prosecutors allege Wilson was recorded eating and laughing with others connected to the trip less than an hour after the shooting. Defense attorneys are expected to dispute both the meaning and significance of the recording.

Earlier indictments described the accusations as part of a murder-for-hire scheme tied to a long-running rap rivalry. Travel arrangements, lodging and other expenses were allegedly coordinated before the shooting occurred, according to previous charging records.

Durk remains in custody after earlier requests for release were denied. Should prosecutors formally add the newly outlined counts, one of hip hop's most closely watched criminal cases could take on even greater weight before a jury is sworn in.
