Kodak Black returned to a Broward County jail Thursday after deputies arrested the Florida rapper on charges involving fleeing law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence, adding another criminal case to an already difficult stretch for the artist.

Deputies booked the Pompano Beach rapper, born Bill K. Kapri, into custody following allegations that he attempted to evade law enforcement during a traffic related encounter in South Florida. Reported by WPLG Local 10, court records show the rapper now faces charges tied to fleeing and eluding police along with resisting an officer without violence.

His latest arrest came little more than a week after he was taken into custody on a separate felony drug trafficking charge connected to an Orlando investigation dating back to November 2025.

Investigators alleged they discovered a pink bag containing suspected MDMA, approximately $37,000 in cash, and documents carrying his name during a vehicle search connected to that earlier case. Prosecutors continue pursuing charges tied to the investigation as legal pressure around the Broward County artist increases.

Legal trouble has also extended beyond the rapper himself.

Jammiah Catera Broomfield, the mother of one of his children, was arrested April 16 in Fort Lauderdale on methamphetamine trafficking charges after investigators identified her vehicle during a separate investigation.

Police alleged Broomfield attempted to flee detectives through erratic driving before abandoning her vehicle and running on foot near Dillard High School, where officers later detained her.

Back to back arrests involving the rapper and people close to him have intensified public attention around his legal problems, which have repeatedly interrupted his music career during recent years.

Kodak emerged from Broward County as one of rap’s most recognizable Southern voices during the late 2010s with songs including “Tunnel Vision,” “Roll In Peace,” and “Zeze.” His career, however, has unfolded alongside probation violations, weapons charges, drug allegations, and multiple jail stints across several states.

Despite repeated arrests, the rapper has maintained a loyal fan base and continued releasing music during ongoing court disputes and criminal proceedings.

Florida court records show multiple active cases involving him remain unresolved.

For many fans following Kodak Black’s career, courtroom headlines have increasingly become as familiar as mixtapes, chart success, and viral moments tied to his music.
